Ayepyep Lifestyle Lounge

I’m Nick Hamman and I just had one of the most epic and delicious food experiences in Cape Town, eating proudly Mzansi foods at the iconic Ayepyep. Ayepyep started as a premium lifestyle spot blending music, fashion, and culture — born in Pretoria, now a national name. It’s rooted in celebration, but it’s also a symbol of Black excellence and entrepreneurship. So when they take South African food — our food — and elevate it with style and pride, it’s not just beautiful, it’s powerful. Founded by the late DJ Sumbody, it’s a tribute to his vision and legacy. I wasn’t sure what to expect with the food, because I’d never eaten here, but I’m happy to report my expectations were exceeded. I chowed down on everything from nyama yentloko, pap, samp, rice, mogodu, goat meat, chicken feet and more in a buffet far too big for one person. Everything was done outstandingly and personally it made me proud to see South African culture put on a tasty pedestal. This is the kind of place that I would bring a tourist to show them what an elevated experience of South Africa is like and I think it’s important that such places exist. I’ve left the details in the caption. Make sure to keep following me for more epic adventures. #Meat #Mogodu
