I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best parcel in South Africa and today I’m out in the mother city, in Grassy Park to visit a joint that you guys have been trying to get me to visit for over a year, Sappat’s Place. Having recently relocated the business from Lansdowne and now running it from home, this spot is the brainchild of Ismaeel Sapat who together with his wife Taahirah started the business 5 years ago when covid collided with the birth of their son and it was clear that the time to hustle was now. Fully Halaal and proudly local, sourcing the meat like the classic bright pink viennas from a trusted butcher by the name of Mohammed, they decided to set themselves apart with a messy, indulgent symphony of sauces which they do not hold back on. This is a classic parcel. Chips, spiced with dhanya, chilli and of course, secret sauce. Honestly this was fantastic. Its not just a mess, this was a well-balanced, thought-out combination of flavour that I think deserves your tastebuds. With plans to expand the business, I’d highly recommend trying out Sappats place now to say you knew them before they were massive. I’ve left the details in the caption, but if this is not the best parcel in South Africa, you need to let me know in the comments where I’m going next
