Patel Vegetarian Refreshment Room
202 Dr Yusuf Dadoo St Durban Central
I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best bunny chow in South Africa and for today’s offering I’m at a place that for nearly 100 years has been offering up affordable vegetarian curries ,served in a hollowed-out loaf of bread. Patels Vegetarian Refreshment Room in Durban on 202 Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street. Keeping it simple thet offer, Moon Dhall, Sugar Beans, Mixed Veg, and Gram Dhall or if you want, a messy mixture of them all. This medium sized bunny was R33 and for my money, that’s more than worth it. Speaking of price, expect to lay cash when you’re here. The mixed bunny was a riot of textures and flavours: earthy sugar beans, nutty gram dhall, and the comforting creaminess of moon dhall, all soaking into the c bread that turns soft and golden with spice. I would highly recommend trying out Patels for yourself and have left the details in the caption and on hammyeats.co.za, but if this is not the best Bunny Chow in South Africa, you need to let me know in the comments where I’m going next?
