The Kota was born out of a creative culinary response to economic challenges, making it an exceptionally South African street food and a representation of township culture, creativity, and resourcefulness.

This classic Kota is a toasted quarter loaf of bread, with chips, a slice of cheese, a russian, beef patty and fried egg, all swimming in their iconic selection of sauces.
