MY Diners Rosebank (Halaal)

I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the spiciest chicken in South Africa and today I’m out at My Diners in Rosebank Johanneburg to try out their quarter chicken Tikka, done hot. This is a family run business with nearly 30 years of history which started as a small humble takeaway joint. Today, its an upmarket experience, so expect to pay R129.95 for the quarter chicken, but as I’ve come to experience there is always a need for more places like this where Muslim families can come together for an elevated sit down meal and frankly, that costs more to run. Hammy however is here today to have his face burnt off with a flavour explosion. Hot for hot sake is pointless and My diners understands, this chicken is incredibly flavourful. But make no mistake, also fiery hot as the sweat on the back of my head was beginning to show. Needed to pause for a gulp of ice cold Kingley Cola, I decided I could now handle dipping my chicken into more hot sauce which as you’ll see here in real time as my conflicted brain was firing off simultaneous signals of pleasure and pain, immediately meant running in for more cola.
