Some say that the countris best veggie burgers is here in Sea Point at the Sunshine Food Sprouting Company. The founder, Elisha Madzivadondo, runs the business together with his wife, Abigail. The former butler turned chef and entrepreneur believes wholeheartedly in the power of sprouts, forming the basis of their entirely plant-based menu.
Starting with an energy juice with beetroot, ginger, celery, carrot, apple, and lemon, we headed to the main event. The charcoal bun burger is packed with fresh flavours, served together with a veggie dahl. This is the kind of food your body will thank you for, but it also doesn’t miss out on taste with its patties made from butternut, sweet potato, flour, flaxseed, sprouted mung beans, sunflower, buckwheat, seasoned basil, and thyme.
The restaurant can only sit around 6 people, so a grab-and-go or ordering for delivery options is probably advised, but if there’s a better veggie burger, you need to let me know where it is?
