I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best chow in South Africa, and today I’m out in Stanger, KZN, about 70 km north of the city, to the new talk of the town, Mall City, to meet Munira Khader and her husband Rafiq, who are turning heads in the bunny game. They recently won Best Indian Restaurant in Ballito 2025 as well as high praise from the late food legend Yugan Naidu, also known as the Bunny Chow Hunter, who I would like to pay tribute to in this video for his immense contribution to food culture in South Africa. May he rest in peace. Naidu once remarked this was the only food that reminded him of his mother’s, the highest accolade one could give. But does this bunny live up to the hype? Yes, this was an aromatically outstanding offering, with everything from the curry, potato, bread, presentation, and service all being top of the pops. I would highly recommend trying out Mall Café for yourself, and I’ve left their details in the caption.
