I’m Nick Hamman and today I’m having lunch with South Africa’s headboy Siyamthanda Kolisi. Currently with the sharks he asked me if I wanted to join him for lunch in Durban at one of his favourite spots and so here we are at Tyler’s in Umdloti. I can tell why arguably the greatest rugby captain of all time likes this spot. They take local favourites and elevate them to the next level. A Caesar salad worth disappointing Ox Nche for, the rest of the meal was a pure meat fest, chicken wings, where Siya proving he could be a foodie if rugby doesn’t work out, chowing right to the bone, mac and cheese and skinny chops. Ending it off with a must have classic, their take on a braai broodjie. I would highly recommend having lunch with Siya Kolisi, and who knows, maybe you’ll run into him if you come and check out Tyler’s for yourself.
