I’m Nick Hamman and I need your help in finding the best Greek Restaurants in South Africa and we begin our search at Mazi – meaning together, a new restaurant in Blairgowrie Johannesburg run by the son in law of the owner of one of Joburg’s most trusted Greek Establishments Papas on The Square.

A trained chef who spent time in Cyprus courting his now wife, the owner left the corporate world to take the risk of running the restaurant. The menu includes all the Greek classics with highlights like homemade pita with tahini, hummus, and tzatziki dips.

Prawn Kataifi for R95, lightly dusted calamari for R105, these soft and succulent lamb chops which to me stole the show, Chicken Gyro with pita, tzatziki, chips, tomatoes and red onion for R89

Beef ribs with rosemary, BBQ sauce, and spicy slaw for R199.

Factoring in location, price, service, and taste, Mazi gets a solid 8 out of 10 and my recommendation, but if it’s not the best Greek Food in South Africa, you need to let me know in the comments where I’m going next...
