I’m Nick Hamman, and I’m looking for the best Chisa Nyama in South Africa today I’ve come to Melville Shisa Nyama situated on 10 Main Rd, Melville, Johannesburg

Beginning at their butchery, I made my selection of meats, going for wors, short rib, liver, and a chicken wing, which were weight and costed.

Before being taken to the back to be grilled on open flame while I waited for my meal

Only open a few months, the spot is clearly proud of its heritage and history with the walls covered in tributes to cultural icons.

Including political figures like Winnie Mandela, soccer and rugby stars, and musical icons like Bob Marley and bra Hugh Masekela

The presentation was clean. With all the meat braai’d fantastically, with the classic accompaniments of chakalaka, chili, and a reasonable amount of pap

As always, I advocate for cleaning one’s chicken bones and perhaps even taking a bite out of the corners just to make sure.

My meal came to R130, including two soft drinks, which I was able to pay for on Yoco

I’d highly recommend checking Melville Shisa Nyama out, but if there is not the best, let me know here, I’m going next?
