Zoo Lake Bowls Club

I'm Nick Hamman, and I’m looking to explore the best local sports clubs in South Africa. Today I’ve come to Zoo Lake Bowls Club in Johannesburg. The club first opened in 1934, taking new management in 2017. To me, sports clubs like this are among the best institutions to kick back in unpretentious, open-air settings. Zoo Lake is proud of its wide range of burgers, including a breakfast burger with a chuck steak patty, a boerewors patty, grilled tomato, bacon, a fried egg, and grilled BBQ mushrooms. They also do a cheeseburger, pizza burger, a Greek burger with a toasted bun, house-made tzatziki, chuck steak patty with a golden onion ring, and crumbed feta among other offerings. Visiting a Sports Club is often a great way to weave yourself into the community of an area, each with its own distinct character and charm.
