Join me, Nick Hamman, as I travel through South Africa in search of its best Shawarma. Today, your comments have sent me to Grant Avenue in Norwood to visit an institution: The Shawarma Company, a Middle Eastern restaurant with 20 years of experience perfecting the art of the shawarma. Slowly spinning behind the counters are fat hunks of beef, chicken, and lamb, all waiting to be wrapped inside a pita or served as a platter with your selection of freshly prepared toppings. In addition to shawarmas, there is a wide selection of traditional cuisine available, but today, I'm here for the lamb shawarma in a pita.

Juicy slices of seasoned lamb, slow-cooked and tucked into a soft pita, complemented by a burst of Mediterranean flavors. I'm pretty convinced this might be the best in South Africa, but if it's not, let me know in the comments where to go next, and like and follow for more adventures.
