I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best milkshake in South Africa and because ya boi has his own little boy on the way, expect a lot more kid friendly plugs that desrve the hammy Stamp of approval. Today I’m starting my search of at this epic spot in Centurion Gauteng, Rainbow Books Cafe, which first opened 12 years ago, that I got shown by my friend Marion Kate from Global Diplomacy. This place has a big heart, first a second hand book store, selling used and new toys starting all the way from the stuff for babas that I’m very much starting to have my eye on, tucked between biscuits and bakes and teen classics like Artemis Fowl, diary of a Wimpy Kid and Goosebumps.
Realising that this charmed and magical world wouldn’t be complete without something sweet they started serving cakes and milkshakes. But let me tell you, there is nothing ordinary about this spot. With over 50 milkshakes to choOse from, these towering milky marvels come in creations that blend the line between confectionary and construction with everything from cookies to cupkaces, sprinkles and marshmelows competing for space in the glass
I would highly recommend trying out Rainbow Books Café for yourself and have left the details and prices in the caption, but id this is not the best milkshake in South Africa, you need to let me know in the comments where I’m going next?
