Saigon Restaurant Rivonia - Johannesburg
333 Rivonia Blvd
I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best Vietnamese food in South Africa and today I’m at Saigon in Rivonia Junction, Gauteng.
With bamboo decor and paper lanterns this spot creates an immersive dining experience, if you come here I suggest trying out prawn toast, 3 pieces for R92, Crispy golden triangles that crunch first, then hit you with that sweet-salty prawn goodness like a seafood hug from the fryer. Vietnamese pancake, giant crackly turmeric crepe stuffed with juicy pork/shrimp and bean sprouts—wrap it in greens, dunk it in sauce, and suddenly you’re unstoppable at R115 and Phở bò: A steaming bowl of beefy, aromatic broth with silky noodles and tender beef that tastes like Vietnam’s answer to “everything will be okay” also for R115.
I would highly recommend trying out Saigon for yourself, and have left the details in the caption. But if this is not the best Vietnamese food in South Africa, you need to let me know in the comments where I’m going next?
