合家东北饭儿（Chinese North-Eastern Cuisine)

I’m Nick Hamman and I’m on a mission to find the best noodles in South Africa so save this for your next adventure.
In arguably Joburg’s 3rd Chinatown, I found a tiny hole in the wall spot where English was scarce but the friendliness and flavour were unreal. It’s North Eastern Chinese, and the name is 合家东北饭儿. I even did a walkthrough and if you hit Teazers you’ve gone too far you dirty boy.
Thick handmade wheat noodles that are chewy, elastic, and built for a heavy sauce. Then that proper North Eastern chilli oil situation on top, deep red, garlicky, spicy, with a darker savoury base underneath. The beef is slow cooked comfort meat, tender, glossy, soaked in sauce. Fresh chilli pieces and coriander to cut through the richness.
