Beira Alta Leaping Frog

I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best Portuguese Restaurant in South Africa and this baby chicken I’m sucking the sauce off here, ripping its tender flesh off with my teeth was devoured by me at the Beira Alta at Leaping Frog Fourways. I make mention of that because this authentic Portuguese restaurant has locations in Gauteng and KZN. As absolute stalwarts of the game they’ve survived in the brutal food industry since 1992 and they most certainly have my hammy stamp of approval, so if you want to suck on these prawns I would highly recommend going on Mr D right now and ordering from Beira Alta for yourself. The food here is honestly incredible, the kind of rich, garlicky, chilli-kissed flavour that has you licking your fingers, tearing through prawns and chicken and wondering why you didn’t order twice as much. But if this isn’t the best Portuguese restaurant in South Africa, I need you to let me know in the comments where I’m going next?
