I’m Nick Hamman and Im looking for the best chicken burger in South Africa and we’re starting this search off with a serious contender, that’s received high praise from sir Richard Branson, the late Anthony Bourdain and Hammy One’s Boy. Sum Ting Fresh is run by Andrew Leeu and now has over a decade in the game. Standing out for their vibrancy and immense gees, the service includes shouting and singing while you wait for your order

I went and checked them out because their one of the food vendors for the Joburg edition of what is fast becoming the coolest day festival in South Africa, Kiss Kiss. If the idea of a wonderfully weird, excellently eccentric day out with epic food like this and the legendary Basement Jaxx, mafikizolo, Desmond & the Tutus and more sounds like a good time, then I expect to see you there with me and my friends Sat 12 April at Emmerentia Dam

When you go, might I one of their all-time classics, the Italian stallion. Stuffing my face here we have chicken breast buttermilk, of course deep fried, a double serving of cheese and creamy slaw encased like any good burger in a roll. This one is going to be extremely hard to beat, but if its not the best chicken burger in South Africa, I need you to ket me know in the comments where I’m going next
