Nanaga Farmstall

I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best pie in South Africa and today I’m at easily one of the most requested places I’ve received from you guys in the comments on this search, Nanaga Farm Stall, super loved stop‑off on the Eastern Cape’s N2–R72–N10 crossroads, known since 1969 for its legendary, roosterkoek, fresh pineapple and of course what I’m here today to try, their homemade pies. Going for R36 this lamb curry pie was a religious experience. With rumours that the flakes from the crust will remain in my car until the end of time, this meaty marvel was tender, fall apart lamb that came steaming out from inside golden flaky encasing.
