I’m Nick Hamman and I’m looking for the best pie in South Africa and today your comments have sent me to the midlands in KZN, to Nottingham Rd to a beloved Padstal, called The Windmill

Offering biltong, freshly baked breads and other pastries, this spot is a local favourite and a must do stop off for anyone visiting this side of the road

Asking for advice on the best option I opted for a pepper steak pie and let me tell you, it more than lived up to the hype. A golden, flaky exterior, buttery and rich, proving the perfect at encasing to the beautifully tender meat, with strong flavours of the pepper cutting through beautifully

I would highly recommend trying out The Windmill for yourself and have left the details in the caption, but if this is not the best pie in South Africa, you need to let me know in the comments where I’m going next
